Abstract

Newport City Council invites tenders in accordance with the specification within this document to establish the provision of catering services at the Pavilion, Belle Vue Park, Newport in accordance with the licence agreement. The current catering service currently offers a wide range in snack and lunchtime menus, including ice cream, cakes, cold drinks and a vast range of beverages which are served seven days a week between the hours of 10 am to 4 pm. The Council would like to continue the contract with a social enterprise or a not for profit organisation to continue to provide a high quality Catering Service at the tearooms situated within the Pavilion as well as continuing with additional responsibilities for the provision and operating of the main Pavilion building and East conservatory previously undertaken by the Council. As well as the catering service, the successful provider would have to work with Community Development or a similar organisation approved by the council to train and prepare vulnerable adults to help them develop their skills to be able to enter into the workplace as part of the Council’s ‘Promoting Independence and Choice Project’. The Park and the local community have benefited for regular events such as Party in the Park, Outdoor Cinemas, Music Gigs and family orientated activities all of which have been organised and arranged by the current catering provider. Any persons interested are welcome to attend an open drop in session on 4th October 2018 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm to meet members of the parks team and to view the facilities.
