Slate re-roofing of Llanfair TH school

Description of the goods or services required

Contractor sought to re roof in slate, the whole of the main school building. Re slating in new and reclaimed slate, new lead and new ridge tiles. Re-decorating all previously painted woodwork on site and refurbishing cast iron gutters where required. Work to be completed before the end of the financial year, and contractors to be mindful that stripping must be done out of hours.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The Scheme will comprise, but is not limited to, the following works:

• Agree acceptable programme with the school and Conwy County Borough Council.

• Attend site and set up safe working conditions.

• Strip entire existing slate roof back to bare timber rafters, ridges, valleys and hips. Including turret tower.

• Retain sufficient slates to recover rear roofing areas as shown on plan.

• Re-roof in new slate all areas to front and side elevations.

• Re-roof rear roof areas with reclaimed slates.

• Strip all cast iron gutters and refurbish with new seals to all school buildings.

• Inspect all roofline timber and replace any decayed or damaged areas.

• Redecorate all previously painted fascias, soffits and bardges to all school buildings.

• Redecorate all previously painted external areas to all school buildings.
