Abstract
In order to encourage significant, long term behaviour change amongst the 60 plus age group, we want to advocate for the development of a national long-term funded scheme to expand the range of opportunities available to the 60 plus population to engage them in physical activity. This time bound 60 Plus Offer will help us learn about what this national, long-term funded scheme needs to involve.
The 60 plus Offer: Active Leisure Scheme will be part of the Healthy Weights Healthy Wales strategy (HWHW) Delivery Plan for 2020-22. Contributing to National Priority Area 6 - Tackling barriers to making healthy choices and reducing health inequalities.
Sport Wales wishes to commission an evaluation of the 60 Plus Offer: Active Leisure Scheme. This document invites bidders to submit proposals to undertake an evaluation of the progress made by the scheme, during its delivery period January 2021 to March 2022.
The evaluation should establish and determine what if any contribution is being made towards the scheme’s long term outcome: To enable the 60 plus population in Wales to live longer, better and happier lives by improving their physical activity levels, confidence, strength and balance and the supporting success measures.
