Provision of Accredited Green Social Prescribing Programme

Description of the goods or services required

The Velindre University NHS Trust require the delivery of an Accredited Green Social Prescribing Programme in relation to the new Velindre Cancer Centre development.

The Trust therefore requires a competent Green / Sustainable development organisation with experience of delivery green social prescribing / green social health and well-being benefits through sustainable construction or woodworking.

The provider must have a sound understanding of requirements of the Well-Being of Future Generations Act and preferably experience of delivering within Wales, within in a healthcare or public sector setting.

The following work scope is required for delivery during this commission:

Date: November – December 2022

Location: Velindre Cancer Centre, Whitchurch, North Cardiff (the Trust encourages green travel as far as possible)

Deliverables (to be quoted for, final programme may vary as required by weather, etc.):

Green social prescribing programme for c. 60 people, over 6-8 week period, comprising wood working and natural materials construction, including:

Construction and materials for 7m diameter wooden/natural construction Roundhouse

120m metres cleft fencing

Construction and materials of 5 outdoor benches

Construction and materials of 5 outdoor picnic tables

Accreditation

Monitoring and reports of impact and outcomes for participants (provided electronically)

To be delivered with patient and family groups, and local / regional community groups, including disadvantaged community groups, with the purpose of improving mental and physical health and well-being through green and sustainable construction in nature.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The company or individual submitting a proposal for this work must not be associated with the successful participant [Acorn consortium] delivering the new Velindre Cancer Centre scheme. Success in this contract opportunity with Velindre at this stage will preclude companies or individuals from future working with bidders on this scheme up to and including Financial Close of the tender process
