Abstract

YGC, part of Cyngor Gwynedd Council (CGC) wishes to employ a suitable consultant to undertake a Project Appraisal Report to develop and assess options to alleviate flooding issues in and around the town of Pwllheli, North Wales. The next phase of the Pwllheli Pilot Project is to produce a Project Appraisal Report, in line with current Welsh Government guidelines, to further develop the options proposed as part of the pilot project. Producing the project appraisal report (PAR) is funded through Welsh Government’s Coastal Risk Management Programme. Welsh Government have made a commitment to a £150million programme of Coastal Flood Risk Projects between 2018 and 2021 throughout Wales. Gwynedd Council are also developing smaller PAR’s in other areas of the County, some elements of which may require input from the successful consultant. These services will be assessed separately to the activity schedule, based on hourly rates.

2 Contract Details

2.1 Title

Pwllheli Flood Alleviation Project - Project Appraisal Report

2.2 Description of the goods or services required

The next phase of the Pwllheli Pilot Project is to produce a Project Appraisal Report, in line with current Welsh Government guidelines, to further develop the options proposed as part of the pilot project. Producing the project appraisal report (PAR) is funded through Welsh Government’s Coastal Risk Management Programme. Welsh Government have made a commitment to a £150million programme of Coastal Flood Risk Projects between 2018 and 2021 throughout Wales.

Gwynedd Council are also developing smaller PAR’s in other areas of the County, some elements of which may require input from the successful consultant. These services will be assessed separately to the activity schedule, based on hourly rates.
