Abstract

Civil Engineering Works. Improvements/up-grading of the Flour Mill Reservoir, Greenfield Road, Holywell, Flintshire. (A Category A Reservoir under the Reservoirs Act 1975). Flintshire County Council's Flood & Coastal Risk Management Team invite suitable contractors to undertake a pre-qualification questionnaire to be considered for a shortlist of contractors invited to tender for (civil engineering) improvement and upgrading works to the Flour Mill Reservoir, located in Greenfield Valley Park, Greenfield, Road, Holywell, Flintshire. Due to the risk of flooding and poor condition of the embankments the reservoir requires immediate improvements, a summary of these works are listed below: Main Embankment: raising of the embankment crest and filling of an existing ditch/trench. Right Bank: existing stone wall to be partially demolished, widening of the nearby road to allow more flow to pass down the road in an extreme event, gabion wall works. Left Bank: Raising of the existing stone wall, new walls, new rail fencing, soldier piles and lagging. The works are expected to commence in March 2016.
