The Llangollen Railway would like to commission a feasibility study to review the current situation and take a realistic, yet strategic look to a sustainable future. With the imminent opening of the new Corwen Station, therefore expanding it’s tourism offer, how ‘fit for purpose’ is the organisation and how and what considerations (engineering expansion, tourism impact, etc) should impact on a longer term strategic plan? It is fully recognised that for an organisation to understand such potential growth in one it’s area of work (Engineering), it cannot be done in isolation. It is therefore appreciated that this study would include an organisational ‘health check’ to review and ensure the organisation is fully aware of its growth potential and in a robust position to respond to such increased demands.
