Description of the goods or services required

The works involves the construction of a new shared cycle/footway between Conwy and Caer Seion industrial estate, and comprise primarily of general site preparation, civil works, paving, kerbing, lighting, landscaping and installation of street furniture.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The scheme begins in the village of Conwy at the rear of the new Conwy Culture Centre building. From here a new Active Travel Route will be constructed and will run in a North Westerly direction for approximately 260m through the cricket club and grounds of Bodlondeb. Utilising an existing path, the new route will continue 230m to the West towards Morfa Drive to Ysgol Aberconwy. From the school, approximately 200m of existing paths will be widened with sharp corners replaced with sweeping bends until it reaches its junction with road named Whinacres. Due to road width constraints the path will run along Mona Road, no physical work will be carried out here, until it reaches its junction with Penmaen Road. 360m of verges on Penmaen Road will be utilised and widened to create suitable width for the new path, past the football ground, until it terminates at Ffordd Sam Pari in Parc Caer Seion Industrial Estate.

The Contractor must provide a suitable traffic and pedestrian management system that maintains public access to adjacent properties/ garages and communal spaces at all times unless prior arrangement has been made and agreed with the Client.
