Abstract

Social Care Wales wants to commission a supplier to carry out a full systematic review of our fitness to practise processes from referral to hearings. This will identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and transparency of our fitness to practise activity and in doing so provide public assurance. As part of this review we want to focus on: - Triaging of referrals - Use and design of risk assessment as part of case management - The use of CARREG (in-house case system) as a tool for case management and reporting - The process of case conference and case examination - Auditing casework and stages of cases - Our compliance with legal requirements Please download the specification for further information.

Social Care Wales wants to commission a supplier to carry out a full systematic review of our fitness to practise processes from referral to hearings. This will identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and transparency of our fitness to practise activity and in doing so provide public assurance. As part of this review we want to focus on:

- Triaging of referrals

- Use and design of risk assessment as part of case management

- The use of CARREG (in-house case system) as a tool for case management and reporting

- The process of case conference and case examination

There is a budget of £50,000 including VAT agreed for this tender.

The contract will run initially until December 2020 with a possibility of being extended until March 2021 should additional time be required.

Minimum standards and qualification required

Suppliers should have the following skills and knowledge:

- An understanding of professional regulation and fitness to practise

- Experience of undertaking similar reviews for other professional regulators

- An understanding of how case management systems and information technology can be utilised to support regulatory processes

- Capable of coming up with sound practical ideas which may involve some lateral thinking
