Abstract

The Reduced Industrial Carbon Emissions (RICE) project at Swansea University is developing a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit to demonstrate cost-effective CO2 separation from industrial gas mixtures. Here CO2 is separated from the industrial exhaust gas by selective adsorption onto a pelletised, solid adsorbent (like zeolites, activated carbon, alumina, silica etc.) at an elevated pressure. This tender focusses on procurement of various parts of the PSA unit. Some of these are bespoke such as adsorbent beds, gas tanks etc. while some of them are available off the shelf such as various sorts of valves, temperature sensors, pressure gauges etc. All of these parts will be delivered to Swansea University Bay Campus to be assembled by the University unless otherwise stated in the lots. This requirement is split into four separate lots: Lot 1 of the tender consists of all vessels and the required instruments like thermocouples, pressure gauges and pressure relief valves. Lot 2 contains 70 air actuated bellow valves and solenoid pilot valves required to operate the unit and test various separation schedules. Lot 3 is a summary of gas tubing, various manual valves, particle filters and pressure regulators. Lot 4 contains the framework for the entire unit to keep the vessels, gas lines and valves safely in place. PLEASE NOTE – The successful tender(s) will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement
