Gigs y Gaeaf - Winter Sounds IFANC

Description of the goods or services required

Conwy County Borough Council is requesting quotations from suitably qualified individuals / organisations with experience of similar projects to; develop and deliver the Winter Sounds IFANC music industry skills and mentoring programme for young people, culminating in co-

produced events.

Winter Sounds IFANC, will build on the learning and success from the first Winter Sounds festival in 2022 with a new programme of skills development and mentoring opportunities aligned with the aims of Creu Conwy IFANC that will culminate in a young person’s co-produced music event.

Young Creatives and the young person’s elements of Winter Sounds have been brought together under the Creu Conwy IFANC banner with funding from Arts Council Wales, the Welsh Government’s Children and Communities Grant (CCG) and Conwy Arts Trust to enable the programme to develop new areas of focus, including:

- Broadening the geographic reach of Creu Conwy Ifanc sessions around the county

- Removing the socio-economic barriers that result in some young people growing up believing the culture and the arts aren’t for them

- Strengthening referral links with Health and Social Services, Education and Youth Services partners

Total quantity or scope of tender

Working with the project team, the successful supplier will be required to produce and not limited to the following outputs:

- Engage and work with a minimum of 20 young people aged 16 - 25

- Deliver a programme of music industry skills sessions pitched at supporting young people to explore areas of interest and gain skills in all aspects of planning, promoting and delivering a music event. A minimum of 12 sessions must be delivered with accredited learning opportunities.

- Provide 12 days of mentoring support – to include tailored pathway / plan for progression for each young person beyond the end of the programme

- Work with the young people to co-produce minimum of 2 live music events with 1 taking place in the rural area – events to be inclusive, accessible and representative of diversity and Welsh culture.

- Work with project evaluator and provide data, reports and recommendations as required.

The budget for this contract is up to £14,500. Proposals submitted over this figure will be rejected. Costing to be inclusive of all facilitation, materials, licensing, accreditation, venue hire, artist fees, administration and all other costs.
