Abstract

The project involves carrying out remedial works to the subsiding carriageway, located on the A470 Royal Welsh Way. The works will include but not limited to: • Excavation of the existing carriageway, verge and embankment. • Removing existing carriageway and drainage. • Installation of kerbs. • Installation of a new full construction carriageway. • Installation of new drainage. • Apply thermoplastic road markings. • Vegetation clearance The works are located on the southbound lane between the A470/Gloddaeth Lane roundabout and the A470/Marl Lane roundabout, approximately 250m north of the access to Bodysgallen Hall. The carriageway is constructed on top of a one metre high approx. embankment, surrounded on both sides by agricultural fields. Full details of the works are contained in Volumes 1 – 4.

The project involves carrying out remedial works to the subsiding carriageway, located on the A470 Royal Welsh Way. The works will include but not limited to:

• Excavation of the existing carriageway, verge and embankment.

• Apply thermoplastic road markings.

• Vegetation clearance

Total quantity or scope of tender

The project involves carrying out remedial works to the subsiding carriageway, located on the A470 Royal Welsh Way. The works will include but not limited to:-

Traffic safety management – two way traffic lights.

Site clearance including cutting back and up-rooting sections of vegetation. Excavating existing carriageway, verge and embankment. Removal of the existing drainage and kerbing.

Carry out in-situ CBR testing on carriageway subgrade.

Install new concrete gullies with D400 cover and 225mm dia. drainage pipe with concrete surround.

Install new 45 degree splayed kerbing along carriageway.

Install and prepare new granular capping layer for carriageway. Form new sub-base, base, binder and surface course for carriageway.

Reinstate embankment following existing profile, top soil and grass seeding.

Apply thermoplastic road markings (centerline).
