Contract for Maesglas Flats – Balcony Waterproofing Works

Description of the goods or services required

Swansea Council intends to undertake waterproofing and ancillary works to 36 no. balconies contained in Maesglas Road Flats, Gendros, Swansea. There are six individual blocks that are four storeys high. Each block contains eight flats however the ground floor flats do not have balconies therefore only six residential units requires the work per block.

The works is principally providing a waterproof covering on tapered insulation to balcony floor and insulating soffit and over cladding underside and edges clad and capped off with aluminium sheet shaped to suit the edge detail.

Additional waterproofing measures includes fitting aluminium sheet capping to the reconstituted parapet copings to reduce water passing into the cavity masonry below and extending lead cavity trays.

1. Register your company on the eTenderWales portal (this is only required once):

— Click on the relevant ITT to access the content.

— Click the “Express Interest” button in the “Actions” box on the left-hand side of the page.

— This will move the ITT into your “My ITTs” page (this is a secure area reserved for your projects only).

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.

— There may be a mixture of online and offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available).
