Abstract

The existing skill’s offer in Wales is largely uniform aiming to provide a comprehensive offer for both employers and learners. Our skills system differs from that of many European countries where there are different entry points for learning, i.e. Initial Vocational Education (IVET) (16-24) and Continuing Vocational Education (CVET) (25+). The project aims to provide an overview of the evidence on establishing a cohesive skills system which differentiates Initial Vocational Education (IVET) / Continuing Vocational Education (CVET) in Wales. The project will have two phases: • Undertake a desktop review of the evidence for establishing a skills system which differentiates IVET / CVET. • Engage with experts and representatives of the sectors of interest, to test the practical implications of the desktop review and gain further insight.
