II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Ceredigion County Council had the opportunity to purchase 2 virtually new refuse vehicles which had failed to sell at auction following being rejected by the original purchasing authority. These vehicles met the Council's specifications and thus a direct award was made to take advantage of this unique opportunity of a significant saving to the public purse and in the lead time that would be associated with new vehicles.
As per regulation 32 (5)(d) relating to the purchase of supplies or services of particularly advantageous terms.
