Description of the contract
Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them. The company has grown year on year over the last five years.
Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S. In order to maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that includes expansion of its facilities and range to motivate increased sales and product marketability.
Puffin Produce plan investment in further increasing scale, efficiency and infrastructure of their current potato operation.
This invitation to tender is in request of quotes for the supply and installation of steelwork & cladding for a Dispatch Mezzanine at Withybush, Haverfordwest.

All materials to comply with relevant British standards and all steelwork to have relevant CE marking.
Contractor to include requirement for all plant, equipment, temporary power, small tools, access, lifting, materials within their quotation.
Client will provide welfare facilities.
Tender submission must be in a lump sum format.
It is compulsory that the contractor visits site before submitting their tender due to the constraints of the existing building/site operations.
Tender submissions WILL NOT be accepted from contractors who have not visited site.
Work will be carried out in a live factory dispatch environment and the client’s operations will take precedence over the construction work. Contractors must make themselves familiar with the client’s operations prior to tender submission.
Site visits must be carried out in conjunction with Shaun Taverner 07855 308270, please do not turn up to site without prior arrangement.
Site working hours as per clients instruction, this must be discussed at the tender walk round.
A full and comprehensive schedule of day work and plant rates must be submitted with your tender.
The project must be completed by October 2017.
Contract Conditions:
Liquidated Damages - £2,000 per week or part thereof
Rectification Period - 6 Months
Retention Percentage - 3%
Contractor’s Insurance Cover - £5,000,000
Insurance Liability of Employer - £10,000,000
