Abstract
STREAM (Sensor Technologies for Remote Environmental Aquatic Monitoring) is a marine and environmental monitoring project funded from the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund through the Ireland Wales Cooperation programme.
STREAM at Swansea University require a variety of high specification sensors that can operate continuously over a 90-day period between routine maintenance intervals, to include installation and report on the collection of data over a fixed period of time.
Due to budget constraints, this procurement comprises two separate Options (in order of preference):
Option 1 – 2x fixed system
Option 2 – 1x fixed system & 1x portable system
The University may select Option 1 or Option 2 and appoint the Most Economically Advantageous Tender to deliver the requirement or none of the options.
The project is currently hoping to be awarded some additional funds which would allow the purchase of a third system which would be a fixed system. Should this funding become available the project would look purchase the new system within the next 18 months. This potential third system forms part of this tender.
