Section IV: Procedure
IV.1) Description
IV.1.1) Type of procedure
Open procedure
- Accelerated procedure
Justification:
The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board secured end of year money to replace the WEDINOS laboratory equipment that is no longer fit for purpose and has obsolete replacement parts. The funding replaced the kit which in turn allowed the current procedures for WEDINOS to continue. As there was no national equipment framework currently available to utilise, the Health Board needed to go out to market via a compliant process and given the time restrictions to spend the money by 31st March agreed that the Accelerated Open Procedure best fits the requirement to appropriately procure and receive the equipment in the timeframe available.
