II.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Radiation Protection Service at Velindre Cancer Centre supplies personal radiation dosimetry materials to a client base primarily consisting of all NHS establishments in Wales and also a range of other customers across the UK. Materials are purchased from a third party supplier and re-supplied to customers using the RPS Cardiff corporate identity.

II.2.5) Award criteria

Quality criterion: Ease of wear and ergonomics of the whole body dosemeters for the end user in terms of comfort and wear. / Weighting: 8

Quality criterion: Ease of wear and ergonomics of the extremity and eye dosemeters for the end user in terms of comfort and wear including fastenings. / Weighting: 8

Quality criterion: Additional identification information on the dosemeters such as wear position, wear period, department name, and further identification. / Weighting: 3

Quality criterion: Dosimetry materials can easily be decontaminated following surgical procedures / Weighting: 3

Quality criterion: High sensitivity environmental dosemeters are available for the monitoring of background radiation levels below 0.1mSv. / Weighting: 4

Quality criterion: Ability to provide dosemeters suitable for alternative wear periods, e.g. 6 months. / Weighting: 2

Quality criterion: Customers of RPS Cardiff should have access to the online system for the inspection of records at selected sites. see Docs for more info / Weighting: 3

Quality criterion: Dosemeters returned for an extended period after the end of the monitoring period shall be read out and a result provided to RPS Cardiff / Weighting: 2
