Clarifications 21.11.19
1.What is the reason for insisting upon a Server based architecture?

There are two operator sites one of which can be used as an Emergency fallback position if the main control center is lost but also can be used for training exercises. Although a server-based system is indicated in the ITT, Contractors can propose whatever type of system they think meets our requirements
2. Please explain the following requirement “Network bandwidth requirements shall remain constant regardless of the number of resources in use”. Typically, when resources are not used, then the bandwidth is reduced. There is a maximum of bandwidth available to certain sites (West Blockhouse) which cannot be exceeded
3. What is the reason for continuing with separate Transmitter and Receiver locations? Firstly, we have a legacy set up where transmitter and Receivers were separated in different buildings. We also have limited antenna capacity and use antenna combiners, also redundancy is a requirement
4.Proposed Solution type: The contractor can spec. whatever equipment they deem suitable
5. Please confirm CH70 (DSC) operation is not required. Not required
6. Please define the term “radio talkgroups” and how they are utilized. Possibility selection of One or More Channels simultaneously
7. Under sub-heading “Operator Function Buttons”, page 14 please define “Recall” and how it is utilized. Last 5/10 seconds of incoming VHF call
8. What is the difference between “Speed dial” and “Quick dial”? No Difference
9. What are the current antenna configurations at Gorsewood Drive, Telegraph Cottage and West Blockhouse? Gorsewood Drive has 4 Antennas feeding cavity filters/combiners for the 6 Transmitters, Telegraph cottage has a similar set up into 8 receivers. West Blockhouse has 2 antennas feeding the existing Transceiver
10. Are the existing Antennas, Coaxial cables and Coaxial Surge protectors to be replaced? No
11. Is the new radio equipment to be installed in existing 19-inch cabinets? No

12. Will there be a Site Survey/information meeting prior to the Tender Submission Deadline, to ensure all aspects are covered before submission of the Technical and commercial proposals? All contractors can visit the sits by prior appointment.

Clarifications 27.11.19
1. Please confirm that the supplier should quote the Radios, including the antenna subsystems. E.g. auto-tune filters for the two multichannel transceivers; or please confirm if existing radio environment can be reused and the suppliers should only quote for the radio equipment only. The suppliers only need to quote for the radio equipment at this site. Existing antennas will be used

2. Ref. Dialling Option (page 15 of 32), please confirm if other mechanisms are also accepted for initiating the calls than by using HTML tags in a web browser. Please consider that the operator access to telephone directory/directories will be provided, as well as the possibility to initiate calls from the directory/directories view. Yes

3. Please confirm if the available on-site long term voice recording Denbridge Marine iVison Data Recorder is able to connect to ED-137B Vol4 compliant interfaces for audio recording. It is the responsibility of the contractor to confirm this with Denbridge Marine, and to liaise with them on the interfacing and testing
