Abstract

Tenders are invited for a Workload Modelling ePlatform solution suitable for Higher Education (HE) and Research Institutions, hereafter called ‘the proposed solution’. Those bidding for the tender must have proven experience with HE and Research Institutions. In April 2014, the University workload modelling framework and policy statements were approved by the University Executive Board and Senate, describing the seven categories of work following a series of consultations with Colleges, Schools and Unions. The University currently has an agreed and piloted workload allocation policy, framework and trial tariffs which will form the basis of the technical solution’s structure. The piloted tariffs are still under consultation and are being operated by some schools in excel spreadsheet format. The University is looking to procure a single proposed solution and an autonomous and transparent approach to academic workload allocation. The proposed solution must provide a management framework, toolset and set of consistent processes which will enable the University to address the allocation and management of academic workloads in an equitable, transparent and consistent way. The University is seeking a solution which must support and be compatible with the Institution’s current network and server infrastructure without requiring any changes to our current operational configuration. All costs associated with the proposed solution for a 3-year period must be stated in the Schedule of Costs. Cardiff University is looking to procure an affordable, value for money platform and managed service.
