Keolis Amey Wales Cymru Limited (KAWCL) have
been appointed by the Welsh Ministers as Operator and Development Partner
(ODP) for Rail Services in Wales & Borders through a 15-year Grant
Agreement (Contract).
KAWCL is committed to operating the Wales and Borders rail passenger
franchise, delivering safe journeys to millions of passengers every year.
While we work toward providing a world class service for the people of Wales,
we are aware of the need to ensure our ancillary and contract support services minimise their
environmental impact and maximise efficiencies.
Amey Keolis Infrastructure / Seilwaith Amey
Keolis Limited (AKI) is the Infrastructure Manager and will provide Asset
Management for Core Valley Lines (CVL) on behalf of KAWCL. AKI will provide operations
management and maintenance of the CVL infrastructure and assets.
Under the above referenced Contract, AKI are to provide the following:
- Rail Infrastructure Management
- Act as Infrastructure Manager for CVL infrastructure and associated assets
(i.e. responsible for establishing and maintaining railway infrastructure) with this
responsibility transferring from the current provider Network Rail to Transport
for Wales (TfW) under the transfer of asset scheme and onwards to AKI via the
Contract.
- The Works, Services and Supply Packages to be procured and delivered to fulfil the TfW and AKI obligations including a range of products and services covering a range of planned reactive and emergency provisions.
The Works, Services and Supply Packages to be procured and delivered under this role, include
but are not limited to the following:
- Minor Civil Works
- Vegetation Works
- Supply of Haulage
- Fencing Repairs/Maintenance
- Disposal of Used Track/Rail/Ballast and other railway materials
- Road Traffic Management
- Security
- Drain Cleaning and Drainage Services
- Electrical Equipment Supplies
Both TfW and AKI have a vision of creating a lasting legacy in Wales and
encouraging and creating opportunities for local suppliers, small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and third sector enterprises (TSEs). AKI will
therefore be engaging with suppliers of all sizes in delivering the
services under the Contract. A fundamental part of achieving this vision is
implementing and adhering to the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act
2015.
