AV Services for Bereavement & Registration

Description of the goods or services required
Bereavement Services and the Register office utilise digital music and visual facilities in its provision of services to the public. This is provided through an audio visual digital system.
This system provides a range of services from music requests for Funerals to Visual displays at services and the Webcasting of ceremonies at the family’s request. In addition to this the system can record CD and DVD's by request. With the exception of Music all of the above facilities generate additional income for Bereavement services.
The provider will need to be able to source and provide any commercially available piece of music for use, this alleviates the need for families to provide any type of music for a ceremony and therefore reduces failure demand protecting the Authority’s reputation. In addition, portal arrangements will provide Funeral Directors and families the ability to directly order the music for their service.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required
• Provision of service in at 2 separate buildings in a total of 3 independent rooms (City Hall Cardiff and Wennalt and Briwnant Chapels at Thornhill Crematorium, Cardiff)
• A full range of downloadable digital music
• Master control option managed by staff located in a total of 3 locations
• Simple Remote Control option of Audio and Video controls to be used by the person leading the service at a lectern
• Option for the applicant or funeral director to directly select and load music and any visuals including images and recordings to the system
• Ability to provide visual tributes in the form of recorded film and/or static images on a number of screens in high quality format comparable to a minimum HD standard
• Ability to record services in a high quality format comparable to current HD standards and provide recorded media to families on request at the same quality
• Ability to broadcast services via the Internet in a high quality format comparable to a minimum of current HD standard
