The Cardiff University Strategic Equality Plan 2020-2024 Objective 4 seeks to Create an accessible physical and digital environment that is responsive and supportive to individual needs by:
- Creating a welcoming, accessible campus and taking steps to remove barriers for people with diverse needs.
- Provide a digital environment that gives all users a positive and accessible experience.
This would span both areas the physical campus and digital environment to enhance inclusivity.
This objective will entail the creation of an accessible physical and digital environment that is responsive and supportive to individual needs within both the physical and digital environment.
The Program will include in its scope:
120 Academic Buildings.
169 Residential Buildings.
Additional Guides will be required for up to 450 Teaching Spaces.
The Program will Include:
Creation of Access Guides - up to 1000 information points per building that are accessible for digital download by users.
Estate-Wide Risk Management Matrices - tailored matrices that enable Estates and Facilities colleagues to appraise their building/estate portfolio quickly and easily.
Reports - Red/Amber/Green Rating Matrices - to enable building works to be focussed on areas of most need.
Low-Cost Improvement Matrices - targeting inexpensive and quick/easy improvements that can be used for minor works planning.
Building specific Best Practice guidance reports - spreadsheet including a prioritised index of potential improvements and approximation of costs.
