Abstract

Public Health Wales is working with a range of interested stakeholders to explore the feasibility of establishing a circular economy approach that uses a social business dimension for the remanufacture of office furniture and flooring. The study builds upon several successful strategic office accommodation projects that have been undertaken by Public Health Wales that have used a circular economy approach and have delivered multiple benefits for health, society, the environment and the economy. The proposed study would therefore look at whether this model could be mainstreamed more broadly across the public sector in Wales. Public Health Wales are anticipating that the contract will need to be awarded to multiple suppliers/providers. In terms of timescale, the end products for the project will need to be completed by 15 March 2019. The final report of the Steering Group will be produced by the end of May 2019.
